Shut Your Mouth!

Check out part of my reading today:  10 But Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”

When is the last time you felt unfit for God’s calling? You know, maybe even NOT qualified to do what we challenge you to in a weekend sermon? Here’s what we tend to do…when we don’t feel adequate…we just don’t show up. That’s right. Why aren’t you working out every day? Why aren’t you taking lessons for a new sport you’re interested in trying? Why aren’t you pursuing that relaxing hobby you’ve always said you should get into?

I know why, I get it. It’s really hard to start something. Once we get it rolling and we feel comfortable in our own skin, we feel good about people seeing/knowing we do it. Believe it or not, it’s really hard to ‘start’ God up too.

Devotions in the morning, follow thru during the day with what we’ve learned. Discipline to rock it out daily. List your excuses. Go ahead. Write them down, log them on your computer, Evernote them in your iPhone, whatever…make them physical. Then continue reading here…

11 Then the LORD asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD?12 Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”

Ok then. You know what to do.
